Croatia's long coastline with its crystal clear waters and rich marine life has long offered tourists excellent opportunities for sea fishing. Croatia has long been known for its beautiful Riviera! But what many people don't know is that Croatia offers incredibly good fishing in beautiful limestone streams! We fish mostly only in the well-known Gacka River which is several kilometers long and winds through an open and beautiful landscape.

Gacka

There are few rivers in the world that have such an incredibly rich insect life and the hatchings here are incredible! The river has a good population of rainbow trout and trout. The fish grow quickly and are incredibly combative. This is definitely one of our favorite rivers in the entire Balkans! The river has been famous since the early 70s when many lords, bank directors and high-ranking people visited Gacka from all corners of the world. A hotel was located right on the river exclusively for fly fishing guests. The river has nice mowed lawns along the edges and is crystal clear. You fish for fish you see and the fish are very alert.

Like our other destinations here in the Balkans, we always look for the best when it comes to accommodation and food! As we mentioned earlier, this is just as important as the fishing! The hotels we use in Croatia are right on the river and have a fantastic kitchen. Here you can eat everything from homemade goulash to the delicacies of the sea! These accommodations combined with fishing are a magical experience. Why not enjoy and lie in the jacuzzi in the evening after you've finished fishing!
