The magic country

Slovenia

We could write forever trying to explain the nature of Slovenia. If you have never visited this country, you have missed something. Its magical nature is like being transported straight into a fairyland. Everywhere you turn, you will see new postcard views!

The Soča Valley where we fish is known for its incredible nature, centered around the emerald green Soča River and surrounded by the Julian Alps. The valley offers unparalleled nature experiences with hiking, kayaking, rafting and of course fly fishing! Check out the info below and stop dreaming! It's real!

The mighty

Soca

Soca also called the emerald green queen of Slovenian rivers, the Soča River is an alpine jewel that begins in the Julian Alps. Its crystal clear waters and environment are simply incredible! This river flows through some of the most stunning parts of Slovenia and attracts thousands of visitors every year who want to see this wonder created by nature! We fish in both the upper reaches and all the way down to the town of Tolmin. The Soca has a rich population of rainbow trout but also grayling and here we find the legendary Marbletrout.

big fish river

Idricja

One of our favorites! Very varied and insect-rich river with very big fish! Our biggest marmorata trout we have landed in this river is a full 101 cm and also a whole bunch with huge arches! The river holds a lot of fish and is very beautiful and exciting to fish in! Idricja is a little warmer than the other rivers and has a completely different character than Soca etc. We have a couple of miles to fish on and you can always find your own favorite spot. We also have a couple of tributaries to the river that we visit if the water level is right.

More Rivers

Tolminka and more!

We also fish tributaries of both the Soca and Idricja. Such as Tolminka, Trebucia and Baca. Our long experience means that we have full control over when these smaller rivers fish best under current conditions! Just because they are small tributaries does not mean that they are small fish. Fishing on a wake in decimeter-deep crystal clear water gives even the experienced shaky knees.

Magical People

Lodges

One thing that is just as important as the fishing is the accommodation. We have visited many accommodation facilities over the years and are extremely careful that we get the best service. Here in Slovenia we have chosen a family-owned hotel. One brother works in service and the other in the kitchen. Where they have their mother with long experience in the kitchen who is the boss over them. Everything is done with feeling all the way from the kitchen to the table. The food is absolutely incredible! A hearty breakfast buffet every morning with omelettes, pancakes, cold cuts etc. Hearty lunches and a 3-course dinner every evening! Our packages include breakfast, lunch and dinner every day! Believe us, you will never go hungry! We have worked together with these lodges for many years and are more friends than work colleagues. You will experience something out of the ordinary!
